Svetlana Alpers
Svetlana Alpers is an art historian, critic, and writer. She has written about Dutch art of the seventeenth century, Rembrandt, Rubens, Velazquez, Tiepolo and the studio as a site for the making of art. Her recent work, Roof Life, an anti-memoir, will be followed by a book on photographs looking particularly at Walker Evans.
