John Keene

John Keene is chair of the Department of African American and African Studies, Professor of English and African American Studies at Rutgers University-Newark. He's the author of the novel Annotations; the poetry collection Seismosis (a collaboration with artist Christopher Stackhouse); and the short fiction collection Counternarratives. He also teaches in the Rutgers-Newark MFA in Creative Writing Program and is the recipient, among other honors, of a 2018 MacArthur Foundation Fellowship.
